Student 2: Ode to a Grandfather Clock

There’s a neat little clock in Keats’ house.

The old clock face ticks away it stands alone.

And it points to the time with its two hands.

The big hand is always waiting

For the next minute to happen.

The old grandfather stands there waiting.

On the old round clock face

One seems to rush while the time ticks on.

Tick tock goes the old grandfather clock

The pendulum swinging side to side.

When both hands meet together.

As the clock ticked by and by

‘Til the end of time as it goes by and by.

And my, as the old grandfather clock ticks by.

While Keats sits there while his love walks by

While the next hour goes by again and again

The little hand is always at the end.

While the next minute finally ends

Finally the hour is over it is right.
