OMG Youth! blog: Our first trip to Keats' House

A room in Keats' House, Hampstead Heath

A group of Year 8s, 9s and 10s had the privilege of visiting Keats' House in Hampstead Heath in preparation for working with Jacksons Lane Theatre to perform at Keats' family home in March. The house was very impressive and engaging for many of us. During the trip we were able to learn so many new things about the poet John Keats- historical and romantic. It was fascinating and almost unbelievable most of the time. Three Year 9s, said that they were inspired by the history of Keats' life trapped within the house, as it included relationships, a secret fiancée, love letters, a kitchen with hanging rabbits, inspirational quotes on the wall and so much more. It was a very successful trip. So many of us had learned something new and we hope to discover more as we continue working on our drama piece with Jacksons Lane Theatre.
